Sheer shadings float fabric vanes between two layers of sheer. Tilt the vanes open for soft, glowing daylight and a view outside; close them for privacy. Raise the shade completely and it disappears into the headrail.
They are the most elegant way to dress a large window, and they protect your furniture and floors from UV light at the same time.
